I finally got in my 9 mile run today. If you have been following me at all on my blog, you know that I have been struggling with getting the energy to log in my miles for training. It always seems that as soon as I get into an actual training schedule, something goes wrong and I cant complete my miles. I think that is why I hate schedules and I have always failed at them. But this past week I have persevered though, and just ran what I could do that day, and knew when I could log my 9-skees I would.
I rested yesterday after logging only 12.5 miles this weekend. But the rest was good and well needed, and I still got in a walk and an hour of yoga. (I love yoga) And ate some pasta for dinner, hoping the high carb dinner would do me good. So I headed out to the good old olentangy bike path to log my miles. It went really well, and I came in at a 9:25 min/mile. I love my bike path and use it often, but gets hard sometimes because the last mile is completely uphill. Its not a horrible hill, but its significant enough to where it makes my last mile especially trying. I was winded and tired by the end of the run, but not exhausted, and my head was in the right place the whole time. I find that if you are struggling during a run, such as with exhaustion, that your head tends to stray into a bad frame of mind and it makes your run even worse then it already is.
More post tonight about your mindset in relation to addiction and running.
